The donation was used to fund the construction of skateparks in the Portland area, which is truly admirable. But who exactly bought these shoes? The identity of the highest bidder remained a mystery for years, only to discover that the buyer was none other than Sandy Bodecker. He had a big impact on skateboarding and Nike, and this auction story is just a small part of his exciting life. That''s why we pay homage to him as the father of Nike SB.
